We build the software. We run it too.
CM Tech Software is a veteran-owned product company in Reno-Sparks, Nevada. We make focused SaaS tools for small businesses — and we operate every one of them ourselves. Today that's three apps — Soft-Con Tracker, SkillVault AI, and MyVaultMate — available on their own or together as the CM Tech Suite.
The founder
The company was founded by Chris Martinez, a US Army veteran with more than a decade in IT operations. The Army taught the habits the work still runs on: own the outcome, do the unglamorous maintenance before it becomes an emergency, and never ship something you wouldn't stake your name on.
After years of running IT for small organizations — the licenses, the vendors, the renewals, the sensitive data, the compliance deadlines — the same gaps kept showing up. The tools that were supposed to help were either enterprise platforms priced and staffed for companies ten times the size, or spreadsheets and calendar reminders that quietly fell apart. So we started building the software we wished we'd had.
How we work
We build, self-host, and operate our products on our own infrastructure. That's deliberate. Running what we sell means we feel the same uptime pressure, the same edge cases, and the same "why is this harder than it should be" moments our customers do — and it keeps the software honest. There's no separate ops team to blame; the people who wrote the code keep it running.
We're direct about what we do. Clear pricing, straight answers, and no sales maze. When you have a question, you reach the people who built the product — not a queue.
